“Thank goodness we still have AMG!”
“And the M cars!”
“And Audi’s RS models!”
“And Dodge’s SRT line!”
“Especially the ones with the Hellcat engine!”
In summary: all of you with the negative takes on the Edge ST have bad takes. Companies exist to make money. This is going to print money for for Ford. I’m honestly surprised it took this long. And you know what? If it’s fun to drive, I’m all for it.

I don’t get the hate. I’m always happy to see more performance models that you know aren’t just all show and no go. At least it will have a 20HP and 30 Ft-LB boost along side a upgrades suspension and looks. That should be applauded not boo’d.

I bet people are just mad that there’s no Flex ST.

The ST name didn’t really have a reputation to begin with.
It never started with motorsport like the M cars or as a tuner like AMG.
It’s just a badge, so who cares what happens to it?

Agree, the negative takes are off base and I welcome a ST crossover, although I would not buy one.
Also, nice avatar.

If the ecoboost Flex came with a manual that would probably have been my next car.

well so far the only branded vehicles have been sporty offerings of small cars in europe and has been around for atleast 20 years now. it’s like if vw put gti badges on the atlas or whatever there crossover is called.

isn’t that just a turned up 3.5? probably wouldn’t be too hard to just tune up your 3.5 eco boost flex there. I know people hit over 500 on the SHO.

ST has a reputation to uphold?
I love ST, I just hate the Edge. It’ll be dead soon.
I also hate marketing exercises with mild tuning and performance changes. AMG and M are usually far more than subtle tweaks.
It also reeks of a “HEY THE EDGE STILL EXISTS!” Reinvigoration effort.

Exactly, they also offer a full line-up of ST-Line cars, which are only an appearance package, in Europe. Meet the Kuga ST-Line for example. So there’s not much to dilute.
